Chemical Engineering Undergraduates Received Scholarships from TORAY Group Malaysia
4 December 2018; The School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia would like to congratulate 2 of its undergraduate First Year students for receiving the TORAY Scholarship awards from the TORAY Group Malaysia.
Nor Hairie Ramli from Kuala Berang, Terengganu and Timothy Stephen Raj Paul from Kulim, Kedah, received the awards in a ceremony held at the Engineering Campus later this evening. Also present, the Chemical Engineering Dean, Professor Azlina Harun@Kamaruddin.
Nor Hairie, a son of a lorry driver from Hulu Terengganu aims to work hard during his years in USM and planned to become an active student by joining PALAPES, such that would discipline him in managing his time between academic and extra-curricular activities.
A son of a teacher from Kulim, Timothy would like to get away from his comfort zone and try something new in life. He also planned to become an active student while at USM, apart from maintaining good grades in academic matters.
The TORAY Scholarship Program is a special award in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia under the TORAY philosophy of “Contributing to society through the creation of new value with innovative ideas, technologies and products”.
Is hoped that both Nor Hairie and Timothy will take this great opportunity to work hard and achieve the greatest height while at the School of Chemical Engineering.
