USM Students Win 2nd Place in NACES 2015

On 21st Oct 2015, a group of final year students accompanied by Associate Professor Dr Syamsul Rizal Abdul Shukor made a technical visit to TNB Research (TNBR) Sdn Bhd at Bangi, Selangor. The technical visit was part of the collaborative efforts by the students in completing the Final Year Plant Design project through discussions with the industrial experts in Carbon Capture utilisation and Storage (CCUS) technology.
A sharing experience programme by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jit Lim Kang, winner of the National Most Promising Academician at the 9th National Academic Ceremony as well as alumni School of Chemical Engineering (SCE) USM, was held in Dewan Kuliah 9 with the undergraduate students.
NIBONG TEBAL, 30 November 2015 – More than 300 students and staff of the School of Chemical Engineering (SCE) had the opportunity to hear Mr. Azman Ismail, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd shares and reflects on his experiences related to the oil and gas industry. He is one of the industry advisory panels (IAP) of SCE and together with him in the sharing session was nine of his colleagues from Shell (M) Sdn Bhd who were generously took part in sharing their expertise with the students.
NIBONG TEBAL, 30 November 2015 – 80 students from third year SCE (2014/2015 academic session) had successfully held an exhibition to showcase their undergone industrial training at the Multipurpose Hall, USM Engineering Campus. The students have to undertake their industrial training during the semester break starting from June 22, 2015 until September 4, 2015.
