Analytical and Fabrication Services Promotion Tour

15th November 2019 - A team of Analytical and Fabrication Services of a School of Chemical Engineering led by Dr. Azam Taufik Mohd Din (Infrastructure Manager) accompanied by Mrs. Rosni Mohamad Yusof (Laboratory Manager), Ms. Azrina Aziz (Reasearch Officer), technical staffs involved Mr. Shamsul Hidayat Shaharan and Mr. Mohd Faiza Ismail went to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Permatang Pauh, Penang Branch yesterday for a promotional tour. The team was hosted by Dr. Norhaslinda Nasuha, Head of Chemical Engineering Programme in Smart Classroom for meet & greet session, a short presentation and followed by discussion with the potential clients.

Chemical Engineering Team the First Runner-up of #ShellSelamatSampai Varsity Challenge 2019

Five finalist consisting of The Flash Helmet (USM), Firecracker (UTeM), PRoSS (UPM), ELRITZ (UPM) and Civil 5 (UM) competed in the #ShellSelamatSampai Varsity Challenge (#SSSVC) 2019 Grand Finale which was held on 14th – 15th September 2019 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. The Flash Helmet team from the School of Chemical Engineering was named the first runner-up of the #SSSVC with their Flash Helmet, which improved the visibility of motorcyclist by emitting light signals to other road users when sensors attached to the helmet detected moving vehicles within 4 meters radius, thus preventing accidents from occurring between motorcyclist and other vehicles.

Chemical Engineering Student Involve in “JORaN” Development

On the 4th of September 2019, USM soft-launched JORaN in conjunction with the registration of new students for the 2019/2020 academic session. JORaN which stands for Job Opportunity Recruitment and Networking is a mobile application that is fully developed by USM students and supported by USM deputy vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Aldrin Abdullah. This app offers various part-time job within the campus for student to apply and earn extra income.
