SEPT 4, 2020 – SChE CSR team has contributed children face masks to SK Tanah Kebun, Parit Buntar in a joyful ceremony today. The masks were presented to SK Tanah Kebun headmaster, Mr. Sanusi bin Hamid by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suzylawati binti Ismail (Manager, Talent Empowerment and Creativity) representing the Dean.

7th Aug 2020 - A group of parents and guardians of Class 3 Al-Fazari, has taken an initiative to ease Sekolah Kebangsaan Bertam Perdana (SKBP) burden in combacting COVID-19 by teaming up with the School of Chemical Engineering (SChE) CSR team to deliver 100 bottles of disinfectant liquid, today. SChE delegates lead by the Dean, Prof. Ir. Dr. Zainal Ahmad were well received by the highly spirited headmistress, Puan Hasmah binti Ismail.

School of Chemical Engineering, USM is extending their COVID-19 CSR service to Akademi Tahfiz Mutiara, Simpang Ampat, Pulau Pinang in collaboration with the generous sponsor, Persatuan Alumni Graduan Sains Mara Kota Baharu 1991 (ANGSA91). The hand over of 100 bottles of hand sanitizers will be done by ANGSA91 representatives to Mudir of Akademi Tahfiz Mutiara, very soon.

24 June 2020 - School of Chemical Engineering (SChE) has contributed 100 bottles of alcohol based hand sanitizers to MRSM Kepala Batas under a newly launched SChE CSR flagship. All the hand sanitizers were produced by a team of SChE staff through sponsorship and public donations.

Sunrich Integrated Sdn. Bhd. Industrial Collaboration Delegation Visit to USM ENGINEERING CAMPUS

10 Jan 2020. Delegates from Sunrich Integrated Sdn. Bhd. lead by Prof. Azemi bin Samsuri had an insightful visit to MTDC CNTs Laboratory at School of Chemical Engineering, USM. MTDC lab which is under the supervision of Dato' Abdul Rahman Mohamed is currently operated for large scale production of carbon nanotubes (CNT).

The core business of Sunrich Integrated Sdn. Bhd. is in the manufacturing of tyres. Several R&D projects associated with the improvement of the performance of tyre and recycling of scrap tyre are undergoing. The purpose of the visit was to exchange ideas and discuss potential collaborations on several research topics with USM researchers. Among the discussed projects were recycling the scrap tyre and use of CNT for development of low rolling resistance tyre.
